12:20 yes, it looks cool but please do yourself a favour and never stack albums like that ( horizontally) they will get warped by their own weight and gravity alone. (Also 11:50 I guess your not an Aphes Twin fan lol.)

Also surprised to see my system at 13:15 😎. Living in the Netherlands, O/96's delivered bij Audio Life. Both LP12 plinths are from 1987. During the years the LP12 has almost all upgrades and together with the SET 300B, at the picture this with WE300B and Takatsuki 274B, the O/96 are really singing. It is nice to see so many systems in so many different rooms. One common goal, enjoying music and the lovely Devore speakers. Thanks for the updates John!

Wow, surprised to see my own room at 11:46.🤩. Thanks! The tube amp is a Unison Researsch S6 MK2, with NOS tubes. On the rights is the Druqks album of aphex twin and all the way to the left is a record of Matt Corby called Telluric, it’s a great album! If anyone has any questions, let me know. And great to see all the other lovely rooms.

Great to again see customer systems. The guy with the Krell reference amplifiers is definitely committing audio overkill.

Love the photos of people showing their style and the dedication they put into the space where they listen. The aesthetic and decor are critical to a wonderful listening experience.

The problem with photographs of audiophile sound systems is that they tell you nothing about how they sound. I know many audiophiles place great importance on how they look. Personally my only interest is how they sound because that is their function.

Those late 70s Savoy issues are spectacular. Also don’t sleep on the Verve Polygram series released from 78-83. Double albums with illustration covers. Most mastered by Robert Ludwig. Ella Fitzgerald , Charlie Parker, Lester Young, Dizzy, Billie Holiday and many more.

I guess I don't run in high enough circles to ever come across gray market audio or even black market for that matter. Bank in the day I hung out with a fair number of musicians in my town and there was a thriving market for grey and black market instruments and amps. I had someone try to sell me a $2000 bass for $125. I don't know how to play bass or might have taken him up.

Lol, so you guys move all your over priced stuff amongst your self.......... now I know how all you guys are in bed together...........a main reason for audiofoolery. Just a bunch of used car salesman

I'm still surprised that if I walk past a venue where music is being played, like a bar, then it's always possible to tell whether the music is live or being produced by a speaker system. Still a very long way to go, I suggest.

I was just watching the local Philly news and they did a story about renaming the home of the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, The Marian Anderson Center. A great tribute to a great Philly icon. By the way, if anyone is in the Philly area you can visit her grave in nearby Colindale.

Growing up, Marian Anderson was just regular fare and we realized she was, yes, marginalized because of her skin colour. As a kid who was just navigating the meaning of racism, she was a beacon on the path of understanding.

What amp is driving those Xs?

Marian Anderson’s vocal range and richness of tone seem similar to the amazing voice of Beyonce on Cowboy Carter. I have been awoken to this musicians talent for the first time and of course there are progenitors and the sublime Marian Anderson is one I assume. Thanks John.

Anyone still into "HiFi" has no idea what they are talking about. I've spent the last 20 years going around painstakingly collecting old DNA samples from not only the jazz greats but all musical savants. For now they are stored inside of Barbasol cans but, using AI and frog DNA I have started to create tiny clone musicians. You want Zeppelin? I have a tiny Jimmy Page and Robbert Plant that I can make sing for me whenever I like and they are no bigger than a flip flop. The future is NOW, HiFi is DEAD!

I was in love with Level 42's sound the moment I heard Something About You Nu Shooz also had Point of No Return from that album. Sadly I don't remember any other song from them

I wore out my Reach the Beach cassette. It was one of the first “replacement” CDs I ever bought. I’m sure when I finally cave to the call of vinyl, it’ll be one of my first album purchases.

Extremely strong start with Level 42!! Mark King is an incredible bass player.

So fun to hear these tracks. I have the Level 42 record and all of Peter Gabriels, including all Genesis albums of course! Bought your 0'96 speakers in 2014 new from one of JH dealers and powered them with Shindo D'Yquems and a VR pre. Had them for 7 years. Now have the O'Baby's powered with a Sugden A21SE. Love them as well in my small room. Keep the video's coming. Thanks. J.J.

So glad I saved all of my 80s albums and 12" singles from those days. I still play New Order's 'Blue Monday' 12" single with its floppy disc album record sleeve. Classic!

"New Wave" aside, The Fixx had a sound that was so compelling, fresh and new. The punchy transients, the impact and overall groove was very cool. As an audio enthusiast college student, this was my peak music listening era, ... the Fixx resonated with me in a big way. John, thank you for this. I suspect we're about the same age. Appreciate the time you contribute to this content.

John when it comes to the Beatles, you just don’t get it Please don’t think you do. Don’t think you’re getting it now. Don’t believe you’ve just had a revelation. You still just don’t get it. You’re not part of that generation. I grew up with the Beatles. You were already a grown man that had already formed his opinions and prejudices when you discovered them, you are a man with discriminating taste. Don’t take that as a put down. I’ve been in the Music business since 1966. I’ve seen this kind of music lover many times. There is nothing wrong with that. The Beatles were a phenomena. I know people that hated Bob Dylan, but loved Joan Baez singing his songs, I think that’s a comparison similar to where you were on your road to becoming an Audiophile.
